Lewis Goes to Mercedes

Hello All,
As you must have already heard Lewis Hamilton has left McLaren and will be with Mercedes in 2013. I will always support no matter where he is but I'm not sure if hes made the right decision . And now with the whole new engine saga i don't know if Mercedes can really deliver. ( But I'm hoping against hell that they do !) I know the last couple of years have been frustrating for Lewis and I understand his need for a fresh start . Some times you need to just move on but being a Lewis fan since his first season I have also grown to love the McLaren team !!!! And it will feel odd to support Mercedes now but I always was and always will be a Lewis Hamilton fan first so I guess I go where Lewis goes . ;) McLaren can come in second each time and I will be very happy ! Now what am I suppose to do with my Lewis McLaren cap ????? I guess I have to wear it as much as I can in 2012 coz  next season I'm gonna need a new one !  Im sure Perez is super excited about his move to McLaren next year. He has driven well this season and it will be great to see him shine in 2013 with a great car under him. Sad about Schumi but to be honest its obvious the come back isn't working out and  hes had some great years in Formula 1 , so I think its better he exists with dignity now.

Lewis Hamilton I love you and I'm sending you loads of love and luck for 2013!!!! I hope you  win the 2012 title with McLaren -The last hurrah for Lewis n McLaren ...

Singapore 2012

The Singapore GP weekend started on a good note with  Lewis getting pole position . The Ferrari's were struggling but Assholonso still got lucky with a podium finish. The race was exciting with Lewis leading Vettle by just 2 seconds and then suddenly he was out of the race due to a gear box failure. :( But I'm glad Vettle won the race because he has shown good pace all weekend and he was close to Lewis so he was the next best option for sure. Maldonado started badly, managed his tyres  badly and was ultimately out of the race due to a hydraulic failure. I was hoping he would keep Assholonso off the podium but that dint happen. There were 2 long safety car periods  caused by Kartikeyan and Schumi .
All in all a disappointing weekend for Lewis fans. And the teams message to Lewis over the radio suggested that they knew that the car might have some trouble. This is going to strain the Lewis-McLaren relationship further and I think it might have a huge impact on Lewis's decision. This is not looking good for McLaren. I will always support Lewis no matter what team hes with but I will be disappointed if he leaves McLaren. And what about my Lewis McLaren cap ????? 3 grand down the toilet !!!!

A Day With Lewis In Mumbai!!!!

Yesterday was an absolutely amazing day!!!! I saw Lewis Hamilton at 3 different events !!! Thank you Vodafone , I promise to be nice to your customer service executives for a couple of months at least !
My day started at noon at the Indiblogger Vodafone Speedfest Meet. It was interesting and for the first time I met a lot of fellow bloggers. Obviously the highlight of the meet was seeing Lewis !!! He was running late and finally arrived after lunch but it was worth the wait. We had a lovely session with him , answering some absurd questions . I was disappointed to loose the Lap With Lewis contest but at least the winner was a serious F1 fan and a girl!!!

After our session with Lewis we all headed to BKC to witness the man in action and what a show he put up! We had to wait for a hell of along time before Lewis appeared coz they had a small parade and an army of sweepers who spent at least 30 minutes picking up trash from the road. It rained just before Lewis was about to start ! (Thank god Vodafone gave everyone lovely red raincoats) I have been for the Indian GP last year but this was something else. To be this close to an F1 car !!!!! Lewis was about 2 Meters away !!!!! What a feeling !!! I left after he finished his run in the Mc Laren and couldn't stay for the rest of the event coz I had to run and change for my last event with Lewis - An auction and dinner.

So I quickly changed into my formal clothes for the dinner and ran off to The Hayatt . It was a lovely evening with a charity auction of 6 items autographed by Lewis. I would have bought each one if I had the money !!! But it was great to see him on stage for over an hour! :) I took a friend along for the dinner who knows nothing about F1 or Lewis except my obsession with him. And by the end of the evening she feel in love with him too !!! That's Lewis for you - Charming, witty, handsome and super talented. Its hard not to like him! And hes generous too , he bid two and a half lakhs on a painting of himself that was part of the auction !

It was a crazy day and by the end of it I felt like a serious stalker! But it was all worth it !!! No picture and autograph this time but lots of Lewis !

Here are some pictures and videos for all you Lewis fans who missed it !!!

Why I Should Be the Lucky Indiblogger Who Gets To Go On A Lap with Lewis Hamilton

Dear Indiblogger,
Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with Lewis Hamilton. Firstly I think I deserve to go for a drive with this legend because I think I am the biggest Lewis Hamilton fan in India and its absurd how I have even got access to the Indiblogger meet that's part of the Vodafone Speedfest. A few days ago a friend of mine sent me a tweet about the Indiblogger meet and I saw it and got super excited but then I realized I need to register my blog and it may take up to  a week to get approved and only then I can register for the meet. I registered my blog but had lost hope and was trying to think of other alternatives to get to the Speedfest. This morning I got an email saying my blog was approved and when I went to register, obviously there were no seats left!!! I called Vineet from Indibloggers and pleaded my case and i think the poor guy was both sorry and embarrassed for me! After that failed I posted a comment on the meet page and declared my undying love for Lewis and Voila !!! A very kind hearted Indiblogger commented and said hes unregistering  so i can register!!!! hahahah i couldn't believe it and I don't think I have ever typed that fast to register for anything! So i think this is reason enough for me to be in that car, Clearly its fate and God wants us to be together but if your still not convinced her are some more reasons :-

  • If you actually count the amount of times i have tweeted to him, I'm quite sure they are enough for Lewis to get a restraining order!
  • Coz I have noticed that he has the most amazing skin ! He's always glowing!!! have you seen the man after a grueling two hour race, he looks like hes stepped out of a spa!
  • Coz I have read his  autobiography twice already and a bunch of other books on him.
  • Coz I have watched every single F1 race that hes been a part of !
  • I had to wrestle with a body guard last year at an event at the Indian GP to get closer to the stage to see Lewis.
  • Coz I have participated in every dam contest on the internet that has the words 'MEET LEWIS HAMILTON' .
  • Right now my twitter followers think i have lost the plot coz I was tweeting for the Vodafone Twitter race contest and I got to the top 10 so you can imagine how many tweets there were about Lewis.
  • I think hes the best dam driver on the grid and no one comes close not even Assholonso !
  • I should be in that car coz I'm a model and I look great in a helmet!
  • Coz I cried when he lost the 2007 drivers championship and i cried again when he won it the following season!
  • Coz his birthday is on 7th of January.( I know most of you dint know that!)
  • I know he loves football and cricket and he also practiced karate. So did I!!!!
  • He wears a lovely bright helmet so I can spot him. Ok so his dad and me can spot him!
  • Coz i know he sings and plays the guitar and he loves to listen to Bob Marley when hes driving.
  • Hes a beach person and so am I !!!
  • Coz he makes me feel like a love stuck 16 year old!
  • Coz I have seen tons of celebrities but nobody has made my heart race and my hands shiver except Lewis .
  • Coz going for a drive with Lewis Hamilton is at the top of my bucket list!!!! And if you don't fulfill my wishes my soul will never rest in peace.Just saying!
  • FYI hes a huge Arsenal fan and said he'd probably be a footballer if he wasn't an F1 driver.
  • Coz its obvious that I am the biggest Lewis Hamilton fan at the Indiblogger meet and possibly in India and Im not just looking for a fun experience. I am an F1 junkie and I worship Lewis Hamilton !!!

Scherezade Shroff

Lewis Hamilton is back and how !

Wwoooooooooohoooooo!!!!! Lewis Hamilton not only won the Canadian GP but also created history by being the 7th new winner this season... What a race!!! It was a late night race for us in India but I was wide awake!
Of course Vettle n Assholonso looked like dumb n dumber!!! Vettle still managed to bounce back a little but Assholonso!!!! The Canadian GP was Epic!!! The last few laps were crazy!!! Alonso looked like he was siting in an old fiat Padmini while Hamilton, Grosjean n Perez went zip, zip n zip!!! Loved it!!!

It was a very exciting race from start to finish. Lewis drove brilliantly and managed to win with a two stop strategy. Even though Vettle started on Pole he dint look very strong today. Lewis has been the man to beat all weekend long and today he showed us why. Schumi had a bad race and retired after his DRS got messed up. Button was struggling with his tyres all through the race. Even though Lewis said the team have done a great job we all know that their pit stop wasn't perfect. I don't know why McLaren are struggling with pit stops so much this season. They were lucky today but their minor mistakes can easily cost their drivers a podium finish.
Perez and Grosjean  also drove very well. These two talented young drivers made world Champions like Vettle n Alonso look like idiots! Great race by both of them. I hope Perez replaces Massa soon!!!

Formula 1 has never been this exciting. A new winner every race and lots of awesome driving! This has got to be the best race so far!!!

Spanish GP

Another shocking race that ended with a new face on the podium... This is such a  great season!!! I was getting a little bored last season with Vettle n his monopoly over the podium but this is a whole different story. Somebody's making history every race! Did you ever think Maldanado would win an F1 race in a Williams???? I certainly did not... To be honest I dint even think it was possible!

There was loads of drama this weekend, starting with Lewis's pole position being taken away from him. It was a bad team call but as usual poor Lewis had to suffer and then there were some sloppy McLaren pit stops ... This could have been Lewis's race but unfortunately he had to take one for the team. Nonetheless Lewis is my favorite driver coz he never fails to impress us. He started from the back of the grid and finished in 8th and that was a fantastic drive. Everyone said Assholonso would take Maldanado on the start and he did but Maldonado and the Williams team fought hard and won the race. It was good to see Kimi on the podium again. And Schumi as usual rammed into someone and then got pissed!  And then the crazy fire in the Williams garage. Unfortunately I had to miss the last 10 minues of the race coz I had to take my mum for a Mothers day dinner, but what a race!

This season is so unpredictable, I think the championship fight is going to be very close and go right down to the last race! Yay!!! Its crazy how teams we just dismissed earlier are doing so well and winning races. Its no longer a three way fight  between Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull...this season soooooooooo many teams look like potential championship winners. What are your predictions for the next race?

Mecedes have finally done it!

I must say I am thoroughly enjoying this season. Each race is better then the previous one. First Perez shocked us with his podium finish and now Rosberg. I'm not going to say much about this race coz its been two days already and unfortunately I'm a little late on this post. It was a great race and a well deserved victory for Rosberg. I was a little disappointed with Lewis finishing in third place yet again but the good thing is hes still scoring points. Its really sad that Schumi's race came to an end with a loose wheel but all-in-all a great day for Mercedes. Button would have won if it wasn't for that delayed pit stop but that's racing. Vettle is obviously struggling, I have always said that hes great when hes in front but hes not good when hes stuck in traffic. I think his bad karma also caught up with him and I'm sure Narain was delighted when he din't make it to Q3 in qualifying.
Now there's all this Bahrain drama...This race better be good and worth all the trouble the FIA is going through. But Lewis is leading the drivers championship and for a change Vettle is far far behind!!! ;) I love the 2012 season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perez- The Real Hero (Malaysian GP 2012)

Sergio Perez the young Mexican driver clearly stole the show at the Malaysian GP. Yes ye know Assholonso won L …Maybe I won’t call him that today since Alonso drove a brilliant race. When the race started this afternoon I don’t think anyone predicted Perez would be on the podium ahead of Hamilton, except maybe Perez himself who was secretly wishing for a miracle. In my last blog I mentioned F1 during the good old days…well guess what??? The good old days are back baby!
The race started on a wet track with the rain pouring down and when it dint seem to stop red flags were pulled out. The race was stopped for nearly an hour but it was far from boring. First McLaren brought out these super cool canopies and camped ahead of the rest, then my twitter feed was full of jokes about Kimi  getting some ice cream and Narain praying that the race doesn’t restart so he gets half a point! I must say it was very entertaining.
The biggest disappointment for F1 fans during the first few laps was Schumi dropping down the order after he was tapped from behind by Grosjean. Very sad indeed as both the drivers looked very strong in Qualifying.  Not a great race for Lewis as he started in pole position and finished third yet again. But he looked visibly happier about his third position finish here than in Australia and I guess that’s because he beat Jenson and none of the Red Bull or Mercedes drivers won.
Alonso jumped Hamilton when the later was boxed in during a pit stop. And the order was Alonso, Perez and then Hamilton. Every one thought that not only Hamilton but a lot of other cars would pass the Sauber. But Perez drove brilliantly and not only built up a good lead ahead of Hamilton but also challenged Alonso. He had amazing pace and was definitely faster than the Ferrari. If his stupid race engineer wouldn’t have gone on saying, “take care of the car!!!! Take care of the car!!” a zillion times maybe he wouldn’t have gone off track and could have actually won the race.
Clearly this race was full of surprises. Alonso and Perez gaining the most out of this wet shocker of a race. Lewis finished in third and I still stand by what I have said, for me he is the biggest contender for the World Championship. Behind him we had Webber who yet again did way better than his team mate. Kimi finished quite strong in fifth position. Senna also beginning to come into his own this season with sixth place. That Williams car is looking good this season. Then we have the rookie Vergne sandwiched between the two Force India’s. I must say a great performance by Force India as it was the only team that had both their cars finish in the top ten. And we round up the top ten with Schumacher.
There was clearly a lot of drama this weekend. Mercedes clearly struggled and just dint have the pace under these wet conditions. Vettle’s season keeps getting worse, did you hear those crazy messages the team was sending him on the radio on the last lap “Stop the car… No no keep racing………………..Stop!!!! It’s an emergency”. Jenson messed up and then just wouldn’t stop complaining like a little girl on the radio. Narain enjoyed his 51 minutes of fame when the red flag was out. And Perez was on the podium!!! What a race!!! If you missed this one I suggest you watch it online because it was one hell of a race.

And PLEASE COMMENT!!!!! I don’t like talking to myself.

Lewis on Pole- Malaysia day 2

As I predicted Lewis Hamilton is on Pole in Malaysia…Hamilton’s been on Pole two weeks in a row and Jenson’s been right behind him, what a great start for McLaren. Lewis has not had two consecutive pole positions since 2009 so I’m sure he's delighted. He has clearly bounced back from whatever happened in Australia … Jenson was really close to his team mate but was out qualified for the second consecutive race and hes not he only one,Webber out qualified Vettle  for the second time as well.
Schumacher must be happier than any other driver on the grid after qualifying P3. The last time Schumi was so high on the grid was in 2006 when he was with Ferrari, so I’m sure the seven time World champion will be celebrating.
I know everyone is saying don’t write the Red Bulls off yet but to be honest I want to!!!!! I’m fed up of the Webber V Vettle Championship where nobody else seems to matter. I feel like we are back to the good old days where you couldn’t predict who was going to win, you had at least 4-5 really strong drivers fighting to win in every race and where the Championship fight went right down to the final race of the season. I’m loving the 2012 season aren’t you??? Vettle and Webber are both on different strategies for tomorrow. Vettle is going to gamble and start with the harder tyre, so lets see which Bull gets it right tomorrow.
I must admit that I never liked Kimi when he was with Ferrari, mainly because he defeated Lewis in the World Championship but he has had such an amazing start to this season that maybe I will forgive him!!! He looked amazing today and pushed that Lotus to its maximum. Unfortunately he will suffer a five-grid penalty for a gearbox change and that pushes him down to the bottom of the top ten. If he continues to drive this way I wont be surprised if he goes back to Ferrari next season to replace Massa.
The Ferrari’s did nothing great as usual. I don’t blame Alonso, you can clearly see that he’s trying to push the car as much as he can and getting the best out of it. Massa on the other hand needs the team to shake him and yell, “What the bloody hell are you doing?”
Rosberg looked strong in the practice sessions but dint manage to do well in qualifying . So your top ten are Lewis, Jenson, Schumi, Webber, Vettle, Grosjean, Rosberg, Alonso, Perez and Kimi. My predictions for tomorrow are Lewis, Schumi and then Vettle or Jenson. What are yours?

And yes if you like this page or you don’t feel free to comment because right now I feel like I’m talking to myself here!

Malaysian GP- Lewis fastest in P1 and P2

Lewis Hamilton flying ahead in P1 and P2 at Sepang, I told you so!!!! My favorite Brit is the obviously the biggest contender for pole position tom. The anthem for the Malaysian GP should be “Feeling hot hot hot” as most of the drivers baked through the first two sessions. I was hoping for rain but not to worry there are still two more days to go and guess what the weather mans screaming – Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain tomorrow and day after!  Let’s discuss how the teams did today in both the Practice sessions in Malaysia.

McLaren
As I predicted Lewis looks stronger than everyone else, he did go a little off track twice but all in all a brilliant performance by him as he topped the time sheets in P1 and P2. My money as always is on Lewis Hamilton for this race.
Button was only ninth fasted in P1 but he improved in P2 and made it to third fastest but Hamilton definitely looks more superior this weekend.

Mercedes
Schumacher continues to look strong, he has definitely got good pace and moved up from fourth in P1 to second in P2. Schumi fans get ready to rejoice coz the German is looking good this season.
Rosberg also had good pace in the other Mercedes and managed a good fourth in P1 and third in P2.

Red Bull
The Red Bull’s continue to look lost, they are not so far away from McLaren in terms of pace but they just look sooooooooooooooooo lost! Vettle went from being second fastest in P1 to tenth fastest in P2. And Webber went from being sixth fastest to seventh. The Bulls are not looking good people! I must say I enjoyed watching Vettle hold a fan for his Mechanic while he worked on his car at the start of P2. You don’t see a double World Champion holding a fan for his mechanic often but this really shows u that these guys are a team.

Ferrari
Assholonso seems to have improved from fifteenth in P1 to sixth in P2 but the Ferrari’s are definitely not strong. Massa continues to be a failure who is going to be out of a contract very soon at this rate. He was thirteenth in P1 and sixteenth in P2.

Lotus
Grosjean continues to impress in the Lotus, he was fifth in P1 and ninth in P2. Hopefully he will have a better race than Australia and really show us what he can do in that Renault. Kimi got a new steering setup this weekend after complaining about the same in Australia. He dropped from seventh in P1 to fifteenth in P2.

Toro Rosso
Ricciardo looked very quick in P2 finishing fifth fastest, his team mate Vergne wasn’t far behind and finished eighth fastest. P1 was not so good for both these drivers as they dint even make it to the top ten.

The rest of the teams dint really put up much of a fight. Kobayashi spent most of P2 in the garage while the mechanics worked on his gearbox issues. Force India, Williams and Sauber all looked ok.  I don’t mean to be rude but obviously HRT, Caterham and Marussia are all competing in their own little race. What are your predictions for P3 and qualifying tomorrow?
